- The symposium is a joint undertaking of the Institute for German Studies and Comparative Studies at the University of Bonn in Germany and the School of Languages and Cultures at The University of Queensland.
The interest for the symposium will focus on the 'intellectual landscape' that is both background and foreground in many of Coetzee's novels and essays. The aim over this two day event is to assay Coetzee’s intellectual influences, particularly those of European provenance.
