Dr. Xiaoxing Liu obtained his PhD degree from Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, with the topic “Discrete Simulation on Segregation Patterns in Granular Systems”. Since then, he worked as postdoctoral research fellow in Grenoble Institute of Technology, France. His postdoctoral research is related to discrete modeling of powder handling (powder compaction, sintering) and of the subsequent mechanical testing (tensile, compressive and shearing tests). He joined ESSCC in 2010.
Xiaoxing’s research interests are Discrete Element simulation/Molecular Dynamics simulation and their applications, which include: processing and handling of granular assembly; Powder packing and sintering; mechanical testing of ceramics ;Colloid transport; particulate and multiphase processes.
