Lutz Gross graduated in mathematics at the University of Karlsruhe and the University of Hannover. He worked with the HPC research group at the Computing Center of the University of Karlsruhe for several years. After 3 years with the scientific software project at the School of Mathematical Sciences at the Australian National University, he accepted a position at Massey University in Auckland (New Zealand) where he established the Center for Parallel Computing. From 2001 to 2003 he was senior research scientist at CSIRO Mathematical and Information Sciences in Melbourne. Lutz Gross joined ESSCC in early 2003. His scientific interests are in the area of the numerical solution for partial differential equations and parallel computing.
