 About Us


The Equity Office facilitates the development of strategies, policies, programs and procedures that enable the University to fulfil its commitment to equity and diversity in employment and education.

In particular the role of The Equity Office is to:

  • develop, in concert with faculties and other offices, strategies to enhance equity and diversity in employment and education at the University;
  • provide an internal consultancy service to the University on equity and diversity issues, policy and practice;
  • assist the University through the relevant committees and its executive to monitor and evaluate progress in relation to equity and diversity;
  • monitor and report on equity and diversity practice within the University to Senate, and externally to State and Federal government agencies as required;
  • assist the University in relation to policies and procedures dealing with complaints of harassment and discrimination;
  • monitor leading practice in relation to equity and diversity nationally and internationally;
  • co-ordinate programs to assist in the achievement of equity and diversity for staff and students; and
  • contribute to education of staff and students about equity and diversity.
