TRAVELING TO FONTAINEBLEAU

By plane (see map for details)

Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport
is North of Paris and approximately 100 km from Fontainebleau. A taxi will cost approximately 150€ and journey time is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes depending on traffic. Orly Airport is located South of Paris and is approximately 45km from Fontainebleau. A taxi will cost approximately 120€ and journey time is approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic. Both airports have a train and coach service to the centre of Paris, for more details on these services, please visit the Parisian airport website.

Taxi is from Charles de Gaulle airport to Fontainebleau. Do not forget that you may share a taxi, hence sharing the cost as well.

At Châtelet you then have to take an other RER (fast metro) to go to Gare de Lyon (about 45 mn). There you have to take the train to Fontainebleau (about 35 mn). Cost: Buy a Mobilis card at €  15.90 to do Charles de Gaulle-Paris Gare de Lyon. At Gare de Lyon buy a train ticket for Fontainebleau (about € 8.00).

At Fontainebleau station you may take a bus (about € 4.00) or a taxi (€ 15.00) to drive to your hotel.

By taxi

By train (from Paris)

Trainsto Fontainebleau all leave from Gare de Lyon. Go to the ‘Guichet Banlieue’ to buy your ticket to Fontainebleau/Avon station. At the desk ask what final destination will be displayed on the departure board. It will usually be either: Montereau, Montargis, Sens or Laroche-Migennes. Journey time is approximately 45 minutes. PLEASE NOTE: Train times are not always frequent so please check the timetable on the SNCF website.

Please note that the Fontainebleau/Avon station is 3 km from INSEAD and the centre of Fontainebleau and that it may be difficult to find taxis late in the evening.
