 Research projects and activities

The School of Education has a diverse range of research projects and activities. In particular, the School is currently responsible for a research projects portfolio which includes 5 Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery grants and 9 ARC Linkage grants, in addition to projects funded by the Carrick Institute, the CRC for Sugar Industry Innovation through Biotechnology, and the Queensland Government, amongst other organisations.

Our researchers are also actively engaged in pursuing practical applications of their research, bringing their work into the everyday world.  Examples of our research actitivities which are enriching the lives of community members, include Latch-on, a literacy program based on Down syndrome research, and Mindfields, a program which empowers young people to create positive changes to their present challenging situations. Staff also provide regular consultancy services for a range of government departments and private organisations with regard to educational policy and practice.
