The Graduate Diploma in Education (MYS) will provide curriculum content in conjunction with the necessary skills and knowledge for teaching the middle years of schooling.

Entry to the Graduate Diploma in Education (MYS)
Entry to the Graduate Diploma in Education (MYS) - 1 year - is available for those with a relevant first degree making them eligible for two specialist teaching areas:
English
Mathematics
Science
Studies of Society and Environment

Entry to the Graduate Diploma in Education (MYS) as an International student is via direct application to the International Education Directorate. Application forms are available from online at http://www.uq.edu.au/international/index.html?page=1084&pid=17799

In completing the application form please indicate your major as being Middle Years of Schooling (See page 1)

What are my career prospects?
Graduate Diploma in Education (MYS) graduates will be eligible for teacher registration in Queensland. You will be qualified to teach the following subjects in years 6 to 9, incorporating two specialist teaching areas:
English
Mathematics
Science
Studies of Society and Environment

Prior to commencing this program, International applicants are encouraged to check their elilgibilty for registration should they complete this program with the teacher registration organisation in their country

Students enrolling in a Graduate Diploma in Education (MYS) must complete the following courses.
EDUC6530 Middle Years of Schooling Curriculum: English
EDUC6500 Pedagogical Issues in Middle Years of Schooling
EDUC6505 Issues for Young People in Middle Years of Schooling
EDUC6555 Middle Years of Schooling Curriculum: Studies of Society and the Environment
EDUC6510 Professional Issues in the Middle Years of Schooling
EDUC6515 Supporting Learners with Diverse Needs
EDUC6545 Middle Years of Schooling Curriculum: Mathematics
EDUC6550 Middle Years of Schooling Curriculum: Science 

Grades
Students must achieve a grade of 4 or above in all courses in Graduate Diploma in Education (MYS) program.
