UQ’S School of Economics hosts international SAET Conference
The School of Economics will host the 12th Society for the Advancement of Economic Theory (SAET) Conference at the University of Queensland, Australia from June 30 – July 3 2012.
This year’s conference will be attended by some of the world’s highly respected theoretical economists. The plenary sessions will be delivered by:
- Timothy Kehoe (University of Minnesota) – Lionel McKenzie Lecture
- Alvin Roth (Harvard University) – Sir John Hicks Lecture
- Stephen Morris (Princeton University) – David Cass Lecture.
SAET was founded in 1991 by Charalambos D. Aliprantis, Edward C. Prescott (2004 Nobel Laureate), and Nicholas C. Yannelis with the aim to advance knowledge in theoretical economics and facilitate communication among researchers in economics, mathematics, game theory, or any other field which is potentially useful to economic theory. The society is responsible for the publication of the journal Economic Theory.
From 1993, SAET held a bi-annual conference on current trends in Economic Theory. Starting in 2010, these conferences have become an annual event and have grown in attendance and breadth of the issues discussed. Past conference were held in Ischia (Italy, 2009), Singapore (2010), and Faro (Portugal, 2011).
