Professor John Quiggin named as 2011 Distinguished Fellow
Another feather in cap for top economist
UQ’s Professor John Quiggin has been named the 2011 Distinguished Fellow of the Economic Society of Australia. The award, announced at the Australian Conference of Economists this week, is the most prestigious offered by the Society.
Previous winners include Colin Clark, after whom the School's Annual Memorial Lecture is named, Trevor Swan and Bob Gregory.
Professor Quiggin is an ARC Federation Fellow and is prominent both as a research economist and a commentator on Australian public policy. He has produced over 1000 publications including six books and more than 200 refereed journal articles on topics ranging from the analysis of choice under uncertainty to the management of the water resources of the Murray Darling Basin.
