The Master of Development Economics (Advanced) offers students a comprehensive and multidisciplinary understanding of the issues and challenges relating to development. The program provides extensive training in analytical and quantitative techniques .
Notwithstanding its multidisciplinary perspectives, economics necessarily remains at the core of this program.
It is also unique in offering students training in how to model the economy as a complex, evolving system, which is highly appropriate in understanding economic development.
Graduates will have extensive training in economic modelling and statistical techniques, in addition to the key analytical frameworks in the field of economic development.
The elective list is extensive enough to allow study in fields such as: health; environment; innovation and competition policy; international economics and politics; quantitative techniques for project appraisals.
The Advanced program has been specifically designed for students wishing to pursue further research studies i.e. PhD. The program includes additional courses in microeconomic and macroeconomic analysis, financial or applied econometrics and an Economic Project and Thesis.
