The School of Economics is one of the largest schools of economics in Australia and provides an excellent scholarly environment. Courses in economics have been offered at The University of Queensland (UQ) since 1912 with a separate department established in 1947. UQ is 1 of only 3 Australian tertiary institutions to be a member of the prestigious Universitas 21. A number of our academic staff have been recognised for their teaching excellence and our staff research publications are highly regarded internationally. As a first year Bachelor of Economics student you will be provided with a superior first year experience.
We also offer international study opportunities through the UQ study abroad program and we are very proud of our graduate outcomes and believe that our programs offer excellent career opportunities. The School of Economics has a number of partnerships with international universities to enable students from those institutions to pursue study at The University of Queensland.
