Teaching > Workshops & Short Courses

CEPA has provided short courses and conducted a number of workshops on productivity and efficiency measurement for a number of government agencies. Recipients have included the World Bank, NSW Treasury, the Industry Commission, Victorian Treasury, Queensland Treasury and the Bureau of Industry Economics (BIE). The present demand for short courses reflects a growing interest in performance measurement in the public sector in Australia. CEPA has put together a series of short courses which deal with the most up-to-date techniques for measuring efficiency in multiple output, multiple input organisations. These methods include index numbers, econometric frontier models and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Many of these techniques, in particular DEA, have been widely used in UK and European non-profit sectors. They have been applied to schools, hospitals, police, water supply, electricity supply and to a variety of other government supplied services.
