12th SAET Conference on Current Trends in Economics

Conference Registration

People interested in presenting a paper should send their work to one of the Session Organizers. The deadline for submission is March 15, 2012.  All participants must register.

Conference Venue

The Conference will be held at the University of Queensland at the St Lucia campus. The University of Queensland's St Lucia campus is considered by many to be Australia's most attractive. It is located seven kilometres from the city's heart on a magnificent 114-hectare site in a bend of the Brisbane River.

Brisbane, Queensland’s capital city, is a diverse, green city with a great climate. Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city, and boasts a unique relaxed lifestyle. Temperature

The weather in Brisbane is comfortable and sub-tropical. In Brisbane in July the average maximum temperature is 20 degrees Celsius, and the average minimum temperature is 9 degrees Celsius.

Local Transport

Brisbane’s Airtrain travels from Brisbane Airport to the CBD in 22 minutes, and operates from 5.00am - 8.00pm daily. Fares can be purchased at the airport, at stations or online at www.airtrain.com.au. A special discounted Airtrain fare has been arranged for conference delegates. Taxi ranks are located in front of the Domestic Terminal at Brisbane Airport, and near most major hotels in the CBD. A taxi from the airport to the CBD is approximately $40.00, and can be more during peak times.

The public transport system in Brisbane consists of buses, trains and ferries. The Loop is a free and convenient bus service travelling in both directions around the CBD. The Loop operates every ten minutes from any red CBD bus stop, Monday to Friday from 7.00am to 5.50pm. The City Cat ferry link the University of Queensland St Lucia campus with the City.
