During August 2009,Australia Zoo and the ECO-lab captured and attached satellite tranmistters onto the backs of eight adult estuarine crocodiles. The transmitters record the crocodiles location to an accuracy of 5 metres through the GPS satellites, and then transmit that information back to our laboratory. This fine resolution data will enable us to accurately detemine where these crocodiles go over the next 18 months.
