The College is situated within the University of Queensland Campus, St Lucia, between the University lakes and the Brisbane River. It is a short walk from the College to all the facilities available on campus including Brisbane city buses and the high speed catamaran service.

One of the smaller Colleges on the campus, Duchesne accommodates a total of 150 under-graduate and post-graduate students from all faculties of the University of Queensland and the Conservatorium of Music. Duchesne welcomes interstate and overseas students and visiting members of the academic staff.

The University of Queensland is serviced directly by Brisbane City Council Buses operating via City, Toowong and other Western Suburbs. The BCC also operates CityCat services via the Brisbane River and Ferry services from Dutton Park regularly.
