A Student Executive is elected from among College members and is responsible for the organisation of student activities, and for fostering the spirit of the College. The Duchesne Student Club encourages College members to participate in a wide range of inter-collegiate sporting, social and cultural events.

Sport is an integral part of Duchesne life, and the College has had a long tradition of success in the sporting field. Students can enjoy up to thirteen different sports in the annual inter-collegiate competition. Duchesne won the ICC Sporting Cup in 2007 and is leading the competition at the end of Semester One 2008.

The Inter-College Cultural Competition greatly enhances college life, with events such as Choralfest, Dancefest, Debating, One Act Play, Chess, Artfest and Oratory attracting lively support. In particular, Duchesne has a strong reputation in debating and public speaking, choir and dance. This semester, Duchesne has won both the debating and choral competitions.

There are a large number of social activities organised throughout the year by the Student Club, often in conjunction with other Colleges. Exchange dinners, social functions, and the Annual "At Home" and College Ball provide an important balance to College life.
