Students
learn to appreciate that they are part of a University
community through participation in a wide variety of
cultural, sporting and social activities organised by
the Student Club.
The
College is also available for conferences, seminars,
retreats and special events during University vacations.
Duchesne
was opened in 1937 under the direction of the Religious
of the Sacred Heart. The College was named in honour
of Saint Philippine Duchesne, a French woman, who was
instrumental in bringing the Society of the Sacred Heart
to America in 1818.
Duchesne
is committed to the development of the student’s
full intellectual potential. It is the aim of the College
to monitor the progress of students, provide help where
necessary and promote awareness and appreciation of
academic achievement.
