2012 Panel Discussion - Unity in Diversity: Dream or Delusion

Each year, the Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Awards presentation event features a panel discussion focused on the Diversity Week theme.

The 2012 panel discussion debated the topic Unity in Diversity: Dream or Delusion and we were pleased to welcome an esteemed panel of speakers chaired by ABC personality Mr Richard Fidler.

  • Mr Richard Fidler, ABC radio personality and panel chair
  • Emeritus Professor Colin Power - former Deputy Director-General and Assistant Director-General for Education, playing a central role in UNESCO’s major education initiatives.
  • Mrs Mary Graham - philosopher, lecturer, consultant, and previous Queensland Corrective Services Commissioner. Mrs Graham is a Kombu-merri woman, affiliated through her mother with the Waka Waka group.
  • Dr James Jupp AM - political scientist and author. Previous federal government advisor on multicultural affairs and Director of the Centre for Immigration and Multicultural Studies at ANU.
