2012 Diversity Week Awards

Each year, the Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Awards recognises outstanding contributions by staff, students and alumni who are promoting equity and diversity within the University and the wider community.  

The Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Awards presentation event is the highlight of Diversity Week and the 2012 event featured a panel discussion on the topic Unity in Diversity: Dream or Delusion, chaired by ABC personality Mr Richard Fidler. 

Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Award

The VC's Equity and Diversity Awards recognises UQ staff or students who have made a significant contribution in the area of equity and diversity.

One award to the value of $10,000 and a second award to the value of $5,000 are open to a staff member or student, or a group or organisational unit of UQ.

Vice-Chancellor's Diversity Award for Alumni

UQ’s 200,000-strong alumni community are shaping the future of global and local communities by tackling the global issues of today through advocacy, representation, leadership and engagement.

The VC’s Diversity Award for Alumni honours a UQ alumnus who has demonstrated a commitment to diversity and has made significant contributions to meeting contemporary challenges within society through professional or community endeavours.
