- Get Involved
Staff, students and the wider community are all invited to participate in UQ Diversity Week 2013.
For full list of events and activities happening at UQ throughout Diversity Week, visit the UQ Events page.
The University of Queensland Vice-Chancellor's Equity and Diversity Awards event is the highlight of UQ Diversity Week and will be held on Thursday, 23 May 2013 at the UQ Centre (4.30pm – 7.00pm).
The awards recognise UQ staff, students and alumni who have made a significant contribution in the area of equity and diversity. The evening will feature the Diversity Debate, the topic is Art is irrelevant to human progress.
Cocktails and canapés will follow the debate and award presentation. This is a free event for all members of the University community and their guests, and for friends of UQ. You are welcome to register your attendance and that of your guests for this showcase event.
Events and Activities
Grant aplications are now closed, however, you are still encouraged to develop an event that reflects the theme of the UQ Diversity Week. The nature of your activity or event is limited only by your imagination. For ideas about what you might do, view previous years' events and activities.
How to promote your event or activity
- Enter details of your event on the UQ Events page and don’t forget to tick the Diversity Week check box under 'Event type' to ensure your event appears on the Diversity Week website
- Promote through relevant channels - you will know your audience for the event so plan how you could promote the event to them. Examples include emails to staff and/or within your area, posters in the staff lunch room or student areas, or a brief article in UQ Update
Resources to help you promote your event
- Diversity Week poster template to advertise your event within your school or area
- Web banner to include at the top of email invitations
