Diversity Week 2008 Design Competition
Background:
The 2008 Diversity Week design competition, in which the winner will receive $1000 cash, is open to current students and staff (except staff of the Office of Marketing and
Communications and the Equity Office).
It is recommended that submitted designs tie in with the Diversity Week 2008 theme, “The Spirit of Diversity”. This theme is about universal aspirations that unite people across boundaries of class, gender, ethnicity, language, culture and ability. It is not about any specific faith, morality or code of ethics.
A written rationale explaining the concepts behind your design is recommended. Designs may include typographic, illustrative, graphic, sculptural, and/or photographic elements. Entries need not be too literal, and submissions that are abstract in style will be welcomed. Please feel free to think outside the square.
Entries may be produced digitally or by hand, please refer to the following list to establish the best means for submitting your entry:
Digital:
– High-resolution image file (in jpeg, tiff or any Photoshop-supported file format). This can be provided either by email (if file size permits) or on CD or DVD, as per the instructions below. To allow for effective printing it is recommended that the file should be at least 200 pixels/inch at A4 size. If you would prefer to send a lower resolution version in the first instance please acknowledge that if the entry is successful a higher resolution version will be sought.
Traditional:
– It is recommended that you do not submit any piece of original artwork directly, please photograph the artwork and either mail or email the image as per the instructions below. To allow for effective printing it is recommended that the file should be at least 200 pixels/inch at A4 size. If you would prefer to send a lower resolution version in the first instance, please acknowledge that if the entry is successful, a higher resolution version will be sought. If you are providing a print it should be approximately A4 in size.
