Diversity Week 2009 will be held from 25–29 May
The theme this year is "In Others' Shoes" .
Coordinators should start planning activities and events as early as possible.
- Generate some discussion with colleagues/students to come up with a suitable activity or event and gain support from the unit manager.
- Book the venue and make arrangements for publicity, catering etc.
- Consider applying for a Diversity Week Grant to assist with costs.
- Register your activity or event through the Equity Office.
- You will need to arrange your own publicity.
Process for registering events or activities
- Confirm the suitability of your event or activity with the Equity Office.
- Enter details on the UQ Events page 'Add an Event'.
- Your entry will then appear in the 2008 'Events and Activities' listing on the Diversity Week site.
Attend the Vice-Chancellor's Awards function
The highlight of Diversity Week is this free event to be held in the early evening on Thursday 28 May.
University staff and their guests are invited to register to attend this free event. Details of guests to be invited should be registered with the Office of Marketing and Communications no later than 27 February by completing the form at: http://www.uq.edu.au/diversity-week/docs/template-invitation-list.xls and then emailing this to Ms Kristy Gan. University staff are encouraged to notify their intention to attend as soon as possible.

Further details will be posted as finalisation of guest speakers and organisational matters are arranged.
Please send electronic copies of lecture notes, speeches, recorded lectures, photographs etc. relevant to Diversity Week, to The Equity Office for possible inclusion on the website.
