The 2012 Bologna, Italy Symposium on Conflict Prevention, Resolution, & Reconciliation will be held from June 16 - July 14 at the Johns Hopkins SAIS Bologna Center. In addition to intensive training on international mediation, negotiation, and facilitation and transferable SAIS academic credit (M.A.), students at the Bologna Symposium will learn the nuts and bolts of strategic nonviolent action, trauma healing and reconciliation, peacebuilding through social entrepreneurship, gender and conflict, program planning and design, etc. from the field’s leading academics and practitioners. The inaugural 2012 The Hague Symposium on Post-Conflict Transitions & International Justice will be held from July 21 - August 18 at the Clingendael Institute of International Relations and in cooperation with Leiden University's Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, offering optional LLM credit. The course work includes modules on restorative and retributive justice, security and development as they relate to rule of law, as well as intensive case studies on the serious practical and moral dilemmas facing the field of transitional justice. Through formal lectures, site visits to International Tribunals and Courts, and interactive simulations and workshops, participants will gain a broad understanding of this emerging field, including concepts, controversies, and institutions, as well as critically examine the historical and contemporary uses of different justice interventions through direct interactions with the actual decision makers. Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development - AYAD
The Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development program (AYAD) places skilled young Australian volunteers, aged 18-30, on short-term assignments of between 3-12 months, in developing countries throughout the Asia Pacific region.
VIDA is an Australian Government program that places skilled Australian volunteers in developing countries in the Asia Pacific region. VIDA volunteers work with local people to share knowledge, develop sustainable skills and build the capacity of communities and their environments in line with Australian Government priorities and the Millennium Development Goals.
Australian Volunteers International - AVI
Administers the Australian Government Volunteer Program placing volunteers in both Australia and overseas.
Opportunity International Australia Internship Program offers internships in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Each internship lasts approximately four and a half months and intakes are at various times of the year. Internships are voluntary positions with interns responsible for their own travel, living expenses and any visa requirements.

Asian Development Bank - Young Professionals Program
Oxfam International Youth Partnerships is a global network of young people working with their communities to create positive, equitable and sustainable change. Oxfam contributes to the aims of OIYP by providing a Program to build the capacity of its partners to be effective facilitators of change. Oxfam works with 300 young people over a three year program focusing on building skills and knowledge, supporting action, facilitating networking and impact assessment.
