The Australian Bicycle Council's - Cycling Resource Centre - Information Solutions

In an effort to create more liveable places, live longer and healthier lives, enable a variety of transport options, and decrease carbon emissions, the federal, state and local governments have worked together through the Australian Bicycle Council (ABC) to establish a Cycling Resource Centre (CRC). The CRC provides users with information on all issues related to cycling in one convenient location. The resources are available for use by educators, planners, event managers, students, engineers and cyclists. The site includes hundreds links to information covering the following topics:

·         Engineering & planning
·         Recreation
·         Education & training
·         Funding
·         Encouragement & promotion
·         Research
·         Enforcement & road safety

The CRC is a one stop shop for all the information that you may require to plan, design, source funding, build, maintain and access cycling as a recreational or transport option. You are encouraged to have a look at the site, tell your friends and colleagues about it, and sign up for the quarterly ABC - CRC newsletter. If you are aware of other interesting topics or have developed new ideas or technologies that relate to cycling, email abc@austroads.com.au.

What is Bikely?

Put very simply, Bikely helps cyclists share knowledge of good bicycle routes. It can be quite tricky traversing a car-dominated city by bicycle, particularly when you need to travel an unknown route to a new destination. However, the chances are, someone has cycled that way before you. Bikely makes it easy for him or her to show you the best way. Visit http://www.bikely.com/

Any suggestions?

Please forward your ideas for improvements to facilities at The University of Queensland to the Manager, UQ Traffic & Parking.
