Safe Cycling Tips

Riding safely

The keys to safe cycling are:

  • courtesy
  • consideration
  • consistency

Easy! Treat other road- and path-users as you would wish to be treated. Remain alert at all times, and set the standards. Be visible and predictable, and follow the road rules. Remember that bicycles are legally recognised as vehicles, and, consequently, cyclists have the same rights, and responsibilities, as other road users.

Essentials on your bike
  • a rear reflector
  • an effective brake
  • a bell
  • and, for low light times:
  • a front white light
  • a rear red light
  • and, on your head:
  • a helmet

Did you know that the bicycle is the most efficient means of transport available? And, one of the cheapest (only walking is even easier on your wallet).
