Our Mission is to facilitate excellent service to campus-users by managing access and end-of-trip resources in accordance with University needs and policies.

Cycling on University Sites

An easy guide to cycling on UQ sites. To help reduce parking and traffic problems, and to foster a healthy lifestyle, the University encourages public transport, walking, and cycling as alternatives to driving to UQ.

On the St Lucia campus, there are several different types of route:

  • On Road;
  • On Pathways (Shared with Pedestrians);
  • Pedestrian Path (Cyclists must Dismount)

Downloadable PDF bike maps for the whole of Brisbane are made available by the Brisbane City Council.

The speed limits on campus provide major safety benefits, and all users must comply.

This website needs the input of cyclists to refine and improve the information that is available, so please use the feedback link below whenever you are inspired with an innovation or suggestion.
