OUTSIDE WORK
As a general principle, the University supports members of its academic staff engaging in outside work with industry and government that enables them to stay at the forefront of their area of expertise and advances the wider interests of the University. It also does not preclude general staff from undertaking outside work.
BUSINESS INTERESTS
In the interests of probity, both academic and general staff with outside business interests in situations where conflict of interest might arise must obtain appropriate authorisation and comply with limits on dealing with the University.
PROCEDURES
The Outside Work and Business Interests for University Staff Procedures document has been developed to complement policy 1.50.02.
