The following additional information is available:

 Weight Watchers ‘At Work’

UQ Wellness, together with Weight Watchers Australasia, is happy to be able to offer staff an opportunity to participate in a Weight Watchers ‘At Work’ program being facilitated by Weight Watchers Australasia.

Weight management is a concern for many of us and this cost-effective ‘At Work’ model provides flexible service delivery as the meetings are held in the workplace.

The 13 week program costs $233.35 per person, and promotes and supports improvements to health & fitness.  The program includes:

·         weekly meeting on-site
·         confidential weigh-in
·         delivery of all program material
·         information on health and fitness, weight loss, healthy eating, exercises
·         group support
·         fully trained leader

To find out more about the current Weight Watchers Programs being offered at UQ, please contact Vicki McNabb.

Australia On the Move (OZOM)

“Small changes can make a big difference to your health - OzOM is a great place to start”.

The Ozom website can help the UQ community to get back into energy balance!  It is designed to encourage people to share tips for increasing activity and encouraging healthy eating at work.  If you sign up on the Ozom website you can post tips, share ideas and find resources for eating less and moving more at UQ.

You will be connected to others who are interested in making healthy changes to their lifestyle, and might even find a buddy to walk with – or someone to help you find a more active way of getting to work.  You can discover new information and resources, create activity groups, participate in events and exchange ideas with others who work on our campuses.  Ozom is not a weight loss site.  It is designed to be a place where people can find useful tips about physical activity and healthy eating, share experiences, monitor their energy balance, and receive support for making changes that will restore energy balance.

UQ Sport

UQ Sport offers a range of activities for staff.  To check out the latest healthy lifestyle offerings, visit the UQ Sport website: www.uqsport.com.au.

Walking Groups

Walking is a fun and practical way of improving and maintaining your health at work. UQ Wellness would love to promote walking groups around the campuses.  If you are involved in one and are happy for additional 'walkers' to join you - or if you would like to start a walking group - please contact Vicki McNabb, Wellness Program Manager to discuss further!
