Following on the success of the Research Roundtable held in June 2005, the node as whole will organise a further one in 2006. The intention will be to bring together as many members of the CRN as possible, especially those with an interest in the fields of Cultural History and Geography. A number of themes were identified from the 2005 Roundtable which needed further discussion, including the related notions of “publics” and “communities” and the relationships between cultural history and cultural geography on the one hand, and cultural studies, on the other.
The purpose of the Roundtable would be to further develop robust theoretical frameworks and research methodologies for research in the field. It will be held in conjunction with the Cultural Identities node.
