The Developing Healthcare Leaders (DHL) program is a collection of online continuing professional development (CPD) courses designed to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to be an effective leader in healthcare. Courses are available all year through the Faculty of Health Sciences, and counts towards postgraduate study at The University of Queensland.
UQ Business School Executive Education is a leading provider of industry-relevant, research-based business education. ICTE-UQ offers a range of continuing education and professional development services for individuals and groups throughout the year. IWES, operated by the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, is the largest and most successful continuing education program for professionals responsible for industry environmental performance in Australia. Courses are taught by leading industry practitioners and designed to keep busy professionals abreast of the latest trends, technologies and practices.
The 'Mediation' professional development workshop is available twice each university semester. It has been developed to provide a strong grounding in problem solving mediation, to build the practical skills needed to be a facilitative mediator and develop essential skills in negotiation, mediation and communication.
Workshops are designed to meet the needs of people with no prior experience in conflict resolution, as well as experienced practitioners seeking advanced sills and specialisation. The workshop is designed to assist participants to gain the skills required to become an accredited mediator.
The school of Pharmacy offers a 5 day program for Pharmacists who are wishing to re-enter the industry or refresh their knowledge & skills. The Pharmacy Re-entry Program is offered at the Pharmacy Australia Centre of Excellence (PACE) twice yearly, in February & July.
The School of Biomedical Sciences offers a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program for medical, surgical and allied health professionals who require detailed and clinically-relevant knowledge of human anatomy. Experienced instructors conduct hands-on clinical courses utilising human material, anatomical models and online educational resources within the Anatomy Facility, a contemporary clinical setting that includes the largest dissection laboratory in Queensland. UQtrainIT courses are IT Industry Professional Courses available to IT professionals, including UQ staff and students. Courses meet the needs of those currently working in the IT industry and people looking to become IT professionals.
UQtrainIT courses are face to face with qualified instructors. Courses are hands on with a focus on lab work. Courses run across an extended timeframe (e.g. 8 hours contact/week over 5 weeks for a Microsoft server course, or 8 hours/week over 20 weeks for a Cisco CCNA course). Many courses are structured to ensure students are ready sit an IT Professional Certification exam by course end.
