Major
Activities
The
major activities involved in moving to a unitised structure include:
- program
redesign and associated rule changes – which are being dealt with
by faculties and departments (who are in many cases redesigning
course content and presentation) university-wide rule changes
– rules such as the
General Award Rules
Entry Rules
Enrolment Rules
Assessment Rules
Exclusion Rules
- recoding
courses (subjects), using the new 8 character alpha numeric course
codes
- recording
details of the new courses – faculties are compiling details of
all new courses (subjects) and recording these in a spreadsheet
which will be used for upload to PeopleSoft. The core elements
of this data will also be needed for the 2001 Handbook series.
- translating
student academic records and providing advices to students
in December 2000
- implementing
a communication plan to ensure all key stakeholders and relevant
audiences know what is happening and what it means for them.
The
schedule, below, provides a general indication of when these major
activities are due for completion.

Most
course standardisation implementation tasks are well on track. The
Course Standardisation Work Plan provides
a more detailed task list, with due dates, completion assessment,
and responsibility allocation.
