Administration
Course
standardisation has University-wide implications and its implementation
is a joint effort between policy-making bodies, faculties and central
administration.

Policy
Development
As the diagram indicates the implementation of course standardisation
involves many stakeholders. Academic, administrative and technical
issues are inter-related and all impact on policy development. The
approved policies associated with course standardisation are linked
to this page as is a list of the outstanding major activities to
be undertaken.
Course
Standardisation Implementation Working Party
The Academic
Programs Policy Committee has established a Course Standardisation
Implementation Working Party (CSIWP) to consult with relevant stakeholders
and develop appropriate policies to see through this important initiative.
The President
of the Academic Board is Chair of the Working Party and has
broad oversight of policy development and the academic considerations
to do with course standardisation.
Office
of the Academic Registrar
The Office
of the Academic Registrar is responsible for facilitating the
achievement of the directives of the Working Party and coordinating
the necessary work in central administration. To this end, a communication
plan and work plan have been devised
to plot necessary tasks and responsibilities. In addition, many
technical issues associated with the implementation of the PeopleSoft
student system, and which impact on course standardisation, have
required central management and resolution.
Faculty
Offices
In addition to revising programs, program and course (subject) rules,
and nomenclature, faculties are responsible for providing student
advice on the translation of academic records. This is a major
undertaking that will be carried out during Semester 2, 2000. Students
should first contact their Faculty Office
with inquiries about this process.
