Mission and Objectives

Mission 

To conduct research and educational activities at state, national and international levels into all aspects of the prevention, acute treatment, rehabilitation, social and vocational management of disabling conditions with particular emphasis on those of traumatic origin, and especially those due to road traffic crashes.
 
 
Objectives
  • To conduct research and educational activities that inform policy and practice, and thereby improve the health, social, vocational and economic outcomes of individuals with a disability, particularly those who have sustained a traumatic injury, with special emphasis on injury and disability associated with road traffic crashes.
  • To provide a source of education and information concerning prevention, acute treatment, rehabilitation, social and vocational management of disabling conditions for health care professionals (including those in training, and in rural and remote locations) and the community generally.
  • To facilitate the delivery of seamless evidence-based health care through a combination of research and educational programmes.
  • To promote CONROD as a national Centre for basic and applied research into all aspects of the prevention, acute treatment, rehabilitation, social and vocational management of disabling conditions with special emphasis on those of traumatic origin.
