SFT-11 Conference Announcement
The Centre for Online Health and the Australasian Telehealth Society is pleased to announce that Successes and Failures in Telehealth, 2nd Annual Meeting of the Australasian Telehealth Society will be held from 1-2 December 2011 at Royal on the Park, Brisbane.
The Conference provides a unique forum which explores both successes and failures in telehealth and attracts prominent national and international speakers and delegates. It is expected to attract over 150 Australian and International delegates including academics, doctors, allied health professionals, government representatives, policy advisers, managers and many more.
Its uniqueness as the only academic telehealth conference in the southern hemisphere attracts prominent national and international speakers and delegates. The scientific program will be informative and interactive and will be accompanied by a trade show featuring the latest products and technology available in telehealth and e-health. All accepted abstracts and short papers will be available at the conference in a delegates' edition of the conference proceedings. A selection of short papers will be published as a supplement to the Journal of Telemedicine and Telecare.
Telehealth is gaining momentum as a key strategy to help overcome the logistical challenges associated with health service delivery. The emerging investment in the national broadband infrastructure in Australia and the recently announced Commonwealth funding for video consultations makes 2011 an important year to articulate the potential telehealth opportunities and developments.
The conference committee is currently inviting interested participants from the online health industry and research community to submit an abstract for the conference. Information about the call for abstracts can be found below or on the conference website.
