The University of Queensland Centre for Online Health is offering a three day intensive education and training programme to provide participants with knowledge and practical experience in the area of telehealth.
This innovative course is one of very few available in Australia, giving participants the unique opportunity to:
- Learn the fundamentals of telehealth
- Experience telehealth demonstrations, including live teleconsultations
- Gain hands-on skills and experience during practical sessions
- Interact with clinicians who have adopted telehealth into routine healthcare practice
- Meet with researchers responsible for leading edge developments in telehealth

Course format:
The programme combines a series of lectures, practical sessions, field visits and group work activities. All sessions are delivered by experienced professionals active in the field of telehealth either as clinicians providing telehealth services or researchers investigating new applications.
Key topics include:
• Fundamentals of telehealth including history, terminology and techniques
• Relevant principles of telecommunications
• Descriptions and demonstrations of established telehealth programmes including telepaediatrics, telepsychiatry, telegeriatrics and teleneurology
• Learn about the operation of videoconferencing equipment, the use of videophones, real-time video observation and digital clinical photography
