The Clown doctors are tickling funny bones at home thanks to the COH’s home based “Raelene Boyle Outreach Program”. Children with complex care needs who are being cared for at home can now have a Clown Doctor check up as well as connecting with their health care team based at the hospital. The program uses web based videoconferencing systems to link up teams at the hospital with families in their home. The program is supported by the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation (and patron Raelene Boyle. The Clown Doctors are able to interact with kids, singing songs, telling jokes and tailoring the ‘check up’ to the individual child’s needs and provides a welcome distraction at home for sick children.
