Rehabilitating with native grass species - Investigating the mechanisms that prevent the germination of native grass seeds in minesite rehabilitation

  • Native grasses are an important part of pre-mined landscapes
  • Recruitment failure is often due to seed dormancy
  • Very little is known about dormancy in native grasses
This project is investigating mechanisms of dormancy in a number of Australian native grass species.

Information gathered through this project will lead to a more successful use of native grasses in minesite rehabilitation.
