| Topic |
A strategic analysis
of the catchment management policy of the Fitzroy Basin |
| |
|
| Project Outline |
This proposal will seek to capitalise on
these initiatives by analysing community and industry interests
in the Fitzroy Basin’s catchment management policy directives. Environmental
concern in the basin is a primary ingredient to understanding and
developing a sound catchment management policy. The study will seek
to explore the knowledge base built up over the past few decades
concerning water management at the community level and in each industry-related
sector. The program will look toward developing a better understanding
of the spatial and chronological relationships between water source,
water usage, and water discharge in the basin area through the novel,
accurate, and cost effective monitoring techniques of water via
the soil-plant continuum. The project will further lead to the development
of a series of site-specific plans for targeted mining and agricultural
operations that will assist in the management assessment of regional
policy. Also, highlighted from this research will be an assessment
of demands, needs, political influences, and a case study on the
development rational policy in the region. |
