Sustainable Minerals Institute

The Sustainable Minerals Institute (SMI) - (previously the Sir James Foots Institute of Mineral Resources) is the umbrella organisation for all of the mining and minerals related Centres and Departments in The University of Queensland.

The CMLR is the main focus for environmental education and research with the SMI. In association with the Foots Education Program (an activity of the SMI), the CMLR has created a new external coursework program on mining environmental management. Courses may also be taken for professional development.
