100th Birthday Celebrations for Current Staff and Students - 16 April 2010. 
 

On 16 April 2010 the University of Queensland turns 100!

The Vice Chancellor invites all current staff and students to a lunch-time birthday celebration to mark this important milestone in our history.

The birthday celebration event, which will be staged in the Great Court between 11.30 am and 1.30pm, will feature live music, food stalls and roving entertainment.

The brief official component of the event (from 12noon to 12.30pm) will include the cutting of the huge birthday cake and a toast to our Centenary.  All staff and students present will receive a glass of sparkling wine (or soft drink if they prefer) for the toast and a slice of birthday cake.

The event will also include the launch of The People’s University: 100 Years of the University of Queensland, the book being published in conjunction with the Centenary.
