Sam has enjoyed being based at the Herston campus.

Dr Sam Ngechu has been studying at the Herston campus in 2009 and 2010 for a Masters in International Public Health.

The diversity of cultures and people from all over the world made me realise that UQ was definitely the right choice for me to study for my Masters.

It was challenging at first when I arrived from Kenya but after being warmly welcomed by Australians and fellow students and staff I have been able to integrate successfully and continue to do so.

I have also gained quite a lot in terms of cultural tolerance whenever our lecturers ensure that the teams formed during group presentation assignments are composed of a suitable mix of people from around the world.
