George has enjoyed his years in ITS

George Nicholls has spent more than 30 years providing audiovisual and IT services, and technical support to UQ staff and students.

I began in television maintenance at the Television Unit.  After six years I transitioned to television production and loved it.  Working in television production was exciting and very creative.  With the merger of AV Services with the Prentice Computer Centre I discovered the world of personal computers at the 386 level when 4MB of memory and a 200MB hard drive was the go.  Ten years fixing PC's and Macs was wonderful.  Now Workplace Health and Safety in Information Technology Services consumes my time and that's a wonderful world also. Thank you UQ for 30+ years.
