What do science, laser lights, ghosts and sports have in common? The University of Queensland! Kids won’t be bored at our Celebration day, with a range of activities just for them.

Help your child develop a lifelong passion for healthy living and physical activity with Active Tribes. The program is designed to help children, aged between 4 and 12, be more active and most importantly, to have fun! Your children can come and join in an exciting activity circuit supervised by Active Tribes coaches in the Great Court.

Unravel the riddles and crack the codes in this fun eDiscovery Quest. Collect your Quest Scroll from the Information Tent in the Great Court and start solving the riddles! Each answer will lead you further along the QR code trail. Take a photo of each code with your mobile phone to reveal the hidden question. Answer all questions correctly and go into the draw to win a prize.
Winner announced on the stage at 4pm.

Experience a disability: Experience what it would be like to live with a disability. Participate in different sports while being in a wheelchair, blind, or “missing” a limb. This activity is open to anyone over the age of 10 years; children must be accompanied by an adult.

Folk and fairy tales, tall stories and rollicking yarns have been enchanting humans since we first began to chat and chortle. Come and listen to the storytellers from the Storytelling Guild of Queensland tell tales from around the world and across time.
The Storytelling Guild of Queensland is celebrating its 25th birthday in 2010. The Guild exists to promote storytelling in the community and has been organising activities such as workshops, festivals, seminars and informal storytelling sessions for the last twenty five years.

If your child, aged between 3 and 12, has difficulty with hand-eye coordination either in sports or everyday activities, then the Motor Activity for Children session might be able to help. The session focuses on confidence and motivation, development and enhancement of fine and gross motor skills by involving children in physical activities specifically and individually designed for them.

Teenagers can measure their simple and complex reaction times to visual stimuli. By exploring the underlying neural principles of information processing, they will develop an understanding of the importance of practice and feedback, and its applications to skill development. This activity is open to anyone over the age of 13 years.
