| Year 4 Chemical Engineering students and staff in 1975 |
Caroline Crosthwaite, now Associate Dean (Academic) in the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology, was a student in the Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) degree in the mid-70's.
For many years, examination results were published in the Courier Mail before they arrived in the post. On the night that the newspaper that contained the Engineering results was being printed, it was tradition for our chemical engineering group to go out to dinner, then gather at Queensland Newspapers at Bowen Hills to wait until after midnight to get the paper straight off the press. It was freezing in winter (end of first semester). Nevertheless, there would be a large crowd gathered on the footpath, the jovial atmosphere spoiled for some by the absence from the paper of failed subjects.
