March 2014

Welcome to the Centre's Newsletter!

CfCSC welcomes this year's new students, launching a new course for the Master of Communication for Social Change, Participatory Media Production.

In this edition of our newsletter we would like you to meet Gemma-Rose Turnbull who is exploring the challenges and possibilities of socially engaged documentary photographic practices.

In Student Spotlight we profile former master student Thi Le Tran from Vietnam. Le is currently working for Besra, a gold mining company that operates in the mountainous
and poor province of Quang Nam.

In From the Centre we discuss the latest Brisbane Development Circle event Future of Aid, where practitioners discussed the shifting environment in development at a local, national and international level.

In Opportunities get the latest information on work and volunteer positions in Australia and overseas, and in From the Field find out about conferences happening around the world.

We appreciate all feedback about the newsletter and input on what you would like to see in the future. Please contact Claudia Sepulveda with your thoughts.

Until our next newsletter!
