Welcome to the Centre's Newsletter!

Happy 2014! The New Year has started with exciting projects for the Centre for Communication and Social Change.

On this edition, we are proud to announce that the CfCSC has won a tender for the Extension Component of the Green Gold Phase IV Project in Mongolia. Have a look!

Last month we were very lucky to have visiting Scholar Loes Witteveen from the Netherlands giving a masterclass at the University of Queensland on visual learning strategies in the field of development studies, communication, and innovation.

In Student Spotlight we'd like to introduce you to Bambang Budiwiranto from Indonesia, a Master of Communication for Social Change graduate, who now teaches Communication for Development and Community Development Management at the Institute of Islamic Studies of Lampung in Sumatra Island.

We also feature the practicum work of student Marian Reid, who spent three weeks in East Timor with Many Hands International (MHI). MHI supports communities to identify their cultural assets and to apply traditional knowledge in innovative ways to create opportunities.

In From the Centre, meet PhD candidate Linda Austin
, who specialises in communication for development methodologies and approaches with significant regional expertise in the Central and South Pacific Islands.

As always we have links on current job and volunteering positions in Australia and overseas in Opportunities. Find out information on conferences, seminars, scholarships, and courses in From the Field.

We appreciate all feedback about the newsletter and input on what you would like to see in the future. Please contact Claudia Sepulveda with your thoughts.

Until our next newsletter!
