August 2016

Greetings & welcome to our August newsletter!

In this edition we congratulate our latest RHD graduate Daniela Bandelli who achieved the rare feat of being awarded a doctorate for her thesis with no revisions requested from examiners. Daniela’s study critically examined discourses and counter-discourses related to gender violence in Italy.

We also proudly farewell five of our postgraduate students who graduated last month. Hui Zen Lim, Laura McDowell, Mo Li, Trilce Patron Lecca and Yingmin Zhu were each awarded a Master of Communication (Communication for Social Change). We look forward to hearing about where their CSC skills and passions will lead them in the future.

This month we catch up with Master's alumna Samantha Ryan who fills us in on her CSC work with youth in the Solomon Islands.

Plus, read our wrap up of this year's IAMCR conference, where the Centre's A/Prof Elske van de Fliert, A/Prof Pradip Thomas and PhD candidate Denielle Emans all presented new CSC research.

Finally, don't miss our Opportunities page for the latest CSC related jobs, internships, conferences and events.

As always, we love to hear from you. Please contact us through the links below to get in touch or share your thoughts.
