April 2015

We have a few exciting opportunities coming up this month! For those who are interested in transdisciplinary research into energy poverty, there is an upcoming PhD scholarship opportunity through the Centre in partnership with the UQ Energy and Poverty Research Group.

We are also still seeking book proposals for our Palgrave Studies in Communication and Social Change. We speak to Centre Affiliate Dr Levi Obijiofor about his new book in the series, New technologies in developing societies: from theory to practice, which is out next month.

Dr Aparna Hebbani tells us about the ARC Research Project she and Levi are working on which looks at the work and dreams of newly arrived migrants.

We also talk to CSC Masters alumna An Nguyen who is now Country Manager of Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) in Vietnam as well as Anya Lim who is running her own creative social enterprise in the Philippines which converts the weaves of local women into high fashion.
