A world where companion animals live longer, healthier and happier lives.  This is achieved through studies in animal health & welfare, and these advances contribute to the greater well-being of society.

To measurably improve the health, welfare, longevity and quality of life of companion animals through leading edge research and development, innovation in patient care, and collaborative partnerships.

To contribute to the well-being of society by increasing the quality of human-animal relationships; by identifying ways companion animals can best assist the disadvantaged, sick, elderly, children and people with disabilities; and to provide society with solutions preventing unwanted and problem pets.

To be internationally recognised as a leading Centre for companion animal studies.

To effectively raise funds to support sustained high quality research through partnerships with individuals, industry, trusts and foundations, and through competitive grants.

To be internally recognised for our contributions to enhancing the School of Veterinary Science and The University of Queensland’s reputation as a leading research university.

To actively market and promote the research contribution to companion animals and the community made by the Centre, School of Veterinary Science, and The University of Queensland.

We are committed to only conducting non-terminal and minimally invasive studies in healthy animal; never creating disease in healthy animals; treating all animals with respect, dignity, kindness and the very best of care, and rehoming all animals.
