We use a diverse mix of fuels to operate a more than 3,500 megawatts of electricity generating plant to supply the national electricity market and the state's North West Minerals Province. The Professional Development Program at CS Energy is the training ground for future professionals and potential leaders within the organisation. Graduates are appointed on a permanent basis with their first 3 years of employment being on the Professional Development Program. During this time, they are provided the opportunity to rotate through our power stations across Queensland and our corporate office. The aim is for the participants to develop a broad range of skills and experience across our diverse portfolio of assets, as well as learn from and work with some of the most highly skilled employees in the industry. Each graduate is assigned a mentor who is a key professional within the organisation and is available to provide guidance and advice to the graduate to assist them to achieve their goals of their individual learning and development plan.
For Engineering graduates, the overall objective for each participant is to work towards being eligible to apply to be a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia at the end of the three year period. Customised learning and development plans are created for each participant based on the requirements of Engineers Australia. To be successful, graduates must possess the following attributes: excellent communication skills; the ability to contribute effectively within a team environment; ability to be flexible and work well under pressure; initiative and strong leadership potential.
